To all BCHPA members:
Take notice that at the 2023 Annual General Meeting BCHPA Executive will move or cause to be moved the following extraordinary motions, with or without amendments.
Each motion will be considered and will come into effect only with a positive vote of 75 % of members as of July 13, 2023, physically present at the AGM and voting.
Motion 1: a package of revisions to the 2016 Constitution and bylaws (as attached but with consistent numbering) with changes to:
– description of the association
– definition of a BCHPA deficit
– revision of the duties of first and second vice presidents
– revision of the provision of a member to serve as nomination committee chair
The consistent numbering will be: Arabic numerals for main sections, lower case alphabetic descriptors for subsections, and lower case Roman numerals descriptors for sub subsections.”

Motion 2: revision or deletion of term limits for table officer position(s)
Amendment(s) at AGM, may specify details such as: removing term limits for any or all positions.
(Currently, “Bylaw 9c With the exception of the secretary, the treasurer, and CHC Representative no table officer shall be elected for more than two full consecutive terms in the same position.”)
Motion 3: Bylaw 8: addition of “table officer at large” position(s), to be elected each year, for a one-year term; including related changes to Bylaw 10 to add ” Table officer(s) at large. The table officer at large shall carry out duties as agreed upon with the president and the executive.”
(Currently, “Bylaw 8 a) As provided herein the BCHPA AGM shall elect the following table officers: the president, the first and second vice presidents, the secretary, the treasurer, and the Canadian Honey Council representative. The president, CHC Representative, and the treasurer shall be elected in even-numbered years, and the first and second vice presidents and the secretary shall be elected in odd-numbered years.”
Amendment(s) at the AGM, may specify details such as the number of “Table officer at large” position(s), and their term of office.
