100th Anniversary PROCLAMATION

BRITISH COLUMBIA LEGISLATURE PROCLAMATION – December 16, 2020

WHEREAS honeybees and native pollinators play a key role in sustaining a healthy environment enjoyed by all British Columbians, and

WHEREAS honeybees fulfill a critical role in British Columbia’s agricultural sector through the pollination of crops and flowering plants, and

WHEREAS the government of British Columbia has collaborated with the British Columbia Honey Producers Association (BCHPA) for 100 years to ensure the protection and sustainability of the province’s honeybee population, and

WHEREAS the BCHPA plays a vital role in the betterment of beekeeping throughout British Columbia, and

WHEREAS the BCHPA manages and cooperates with several community-based programs that address bee health issues, improve local habitats, and support native pollinators;

NOW KNOW YE THAT We do by these presents proclaim and declare that December 16, 2020, shall be known as

“100th Anniversary of the BC Honey Producers Association”

in the Province of British Columbia.
